Graduated in Electrical Engineering from the University of Mumbai in 1963. Immediately thereafter joined on the teaching faculty in Electrical Engineering Department at Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute (VJTI), Mumbai. Completed Master's and then studied at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and was awarded Ph.D. for the research work.
During the total tenure of 36 years at VJTI he has been actively involved with technical education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels along with research programs. Guided Ph.D. candidates.
Was a member of Senate of University of Mumbai 1984-1990. The Mumbai University was established in 1856 and is one of the oldest universities in India. VJTI is a central technological institute which is imparting technical education since 1887.
Was also Chairman, Board of Studies in Engineering of University of Mumbai. Has worked in various committees for Technical Education of Govt. of Maharashtra, University of Mumbai and All India Council of Technical Education - AICTE.
After retiring from VJTI in 1999 September he took up a challenging task of launching a new Engineering college, Vidyalankar Institute of Technology affiliated to University of Mumbai as their first Principal in 1999. Subsequently in October 2002 he retired voluntarily.
As a principal co-ordinator worked on the joint committee of VJTI - Siemens in modernizing the High Voltage Laboratory at VJTI (A joint program of Institute Industry Interaction.)
Was associated with VJTI as a visiting faculty in Electrical Engineering Department. Also actively engaged as Consultant to electrical Industry.
Was sponsored by British Council for study visits to technical institutes in UK and Ireland in 1989. Has extensively traveled in the countries like USA, UK, Canada, Netherlands, Japan, China etc.
